The gypsum quarry of Murisengo (AL), is cultivated with the use of explosives and the method of chamber and pillars. The deposit consists of macro-crystalline and micro-crystalline gypsum interspersed with marly levels. The quarry is cultivated on 5 levels and has 2 entrances: the main entrance and the secondary entrance, on the lower level.
For structural safety, Img carries out structural monitoring since 2005 to date, which includes a measure of convergences and a verification of the stresses on some pillars, through the use of flat jacks.
